The game, which was held on November 30, was organized in memory of another student who had passed away but sadly ended in another tragedy.
Kasin was a beloved student from Massapequa High School.
During an intermission, the teen passed out on the ice, prompting medical staff to start CPR while police and ambulance services were called to the scene.
The hockey player was sadly pronounced dead at the hospital shortly after the incident. His cause of death has yet to be confirmed but local authorities have shared that no criminal activity is suspected.
The game was originally held in memory of Sabrina Navaretta, a Syoset High School graduate who sadly passed away in 2023 after being involved in a car crash.
The Navaretta family have shared their deepest sympathy with Connor’s parents, knowing all too well the heartbreak they must be feeling at this time.
The tragic incident has left the community in mourning for a young athlete taken too soon.
Our thoughts are with his loved ones. RIP.
